Wafatnya Ali (Karramallahu Wajhah)

Al Ashbagh Al-Hanzhali berkata, “Pada waktu fajar, sesaat sebelum Ali ditusuk dengan pedang, Ibnu Al Thayyah datang kepadanya untuk mengajaknya shalat. Dia sedang berbaring dan mengantuk, dan tetap demikian ketika dia kembali kepadanya. Akan tetapi, ketika dia datang untuk ketiga kalinya, Ali bangkit dan berjalan, sambil bersyair:

Bersiap-siaplah untuk menyambut maut.
Sungguh kematian akan kau jelang.
Janganlah kau takut kepada kematian.
Ketika tiba di pesisir hidupmu.

“Ketika dia mencapai pintu kecil masjid, Ibnu Muljam merapat kepadanya dan menusuknya dengan pedang.”

Ummu Kultsum, putri Ali r.a. berlari keluar sambil berkata, “Wahai, mengapa nasib buruk menimpaku pada shalat subuh? Suamiku Amirul Mukminin dan ayahku dibunuh pada waktu shalat subuh!”

Diriwayatkan dari seorang syaikh Quraisy bahwa ketika Ibnu Muljam menusuknya dengan pedang, Ali berkata, “Demi pemilik Ka’bah, telah menang aku!”

Menurut Muhammad bin Ali, setelah ditusuk, Ali kemudian segera memberikan nasihat kepada anak-anaknya, dan setelah itu dia tidak berkata apa-apa lagi kecuali “Tidak ada Tuhan selain Allah” hingga ajal menjemputnya.
